Ex-Officio Executive Director Proposal Approved by the OMA Board of Directors
Just prior to his recent retirement from his position as Executive Director of Blowing Rock Conference Center in North Carolina, Bill Bourdon approached the OMA-UCC Board of Directors with an idea and a formal proposal. Bill’s many years of experience and active participation in Outdoor Ministries in the United Church of Christ gives him unique insight into both the breadth and depth of the emerging needs of our beloved community. Given this moment of challenge and possibility, Bill has proposed creating and assuming a new role in the OMA organization— an ex-officio Executive Director. The position would be volunteer. OMA would provide only a stipend to defray related travel costs.
As an ex-officio Executive Director, Bill would work closely with the OMA-UCC Board of Directors to: help grow membership; facilitate communication between OMA and all its key constituencies; act as a key contact person for the organization; create and set BOD agendas; and assist with key BOD tasks. During their November face-to-face meeting, the OMA-UCC Board reviewed Bill’s proposal, and after soliciting membership feedback, enthusiastically accepted his generous offer.
If you would like to see Bill Bourdon's proposal, you can find it on the OMA website.
